Description/directions to location: northam burrows in northam. once in northam, just follow the signs to the burrows. there are actually 2 entrances. you need the entrance by the golf course/go past tennis courts to get there. unfortunatly its only seasonal (only there for about 6 of the colder months)and its a salt water pool. so washing models afterwards is a must! its fairly shallow at the edge to wellies is a must to get to a good moating depth. in the middle i cant imagine it being more than 3foot deep.... infact 3 foot would be the absolute maximum!
Type: Purpose built model boat lake
Size: Medium / Large
Depth: "Waders"
Shoreline access: Full access
Open Public Access: yes
Any restrictions? (Noise, speed, etc): well, there are no signs saying its not allowed and i've never had any complaints (including using a petrol boat) although there are grazing sheep and horses nearby. also in the warmer weather there may be children playing.

Dartmoor Radio Sailing Club now has a new lake on which we sail. It is located at Shaugh Lakes, which is part of Sibelco China Clay quarries. It’s about a mile from the old lake.

Directions are : At Cadover Bridge, there is one road leading south, which is a No Through Road. Approximately 3/4 of a mile, the road climbs a hill and veers to the right. After about 100 yards, there is a wide steel gate, behind which is Sibelco’s notice board. Through the gate, the track bears to the right, and following this track will being you to our club house, and our launching jetty and control platforms. The DRSC meets on Wednesday and Saturdays and everyone is welcome.
