Apparently there was once a 'tidal' boat pond at Margate.
Evidence: this small and murky fold-out multiview.
To make it more fun the caption writer has got two images confused and written 'model yacht pond' on the harbour evening shot and 'eventide' on the model yacht pond.

There's some evidence
on the following AERIAL
PHOTO that it's still
there - can anyone provide any further information? Thanks, Mark
In reply to your request for info on the Margate tidal pond. I used to live in Margate in the mid to late '80s and the pond that you are asking about was not useable, as seen in the aerial photo. However, if you follow the coast to the right for a short distance you get to this one Aerial Photo
I used to this for my 'unsociable' nitro boats and it was fine. It was even possible to get the car right alongside, don't know if this is still possible.
I now live back in the Manchester area and use a very secluded lake close-ish to where I live. Unfortunatly I am unable to share this location as whilst I and my friends are accepted (tolerated?) on there with our electric, nitro and gas boats I feel quite certain that if many others start using it then this ideal spot will have it's access denied to all. Unfortunately I should imagine that this is the case with many waters.

A small pond in Folkestone called Radner Park adjacent to the hospital (no signs to say if you can or canít use it. I spoke to a couple of fishermen and they were more than happy for me to be there)

Kearsney Abbey Gardens, Dover.
The guidebook says: "The gardens at Kearsney Abbey are laid out as informal parkland around two ornamental lakes through which the River Dour flows. The abbey itself was demolished many years ago although the west wing remains and is now used as a café facility for visitors to the park.
The site is popular at all times of the year but especially in the summer time when the lawns become a favourite picnic site at weekends. A play area for children is available and the lower lake is used for model boating."
The Gardens are off Alkham Road, Dover.
