T & C's
Your
contribution is for an equal share of the running costs
and maintenance of the boat for the duration of the trip
-
fuel, licence
and slipway fees, insurance, transport of the boat to the
water (cheaper than mooring fees!),
etc.
Lunch
and other
costs are at your own expense.
I
want to be absolutely transparent about the estimated
costs and your contribution. This is my own private boat
- not for profit.
The
Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) issue codes
of practice relating to
commercially operated craft - if I were to receive
payment for anything other than a contribution
to the operating costs then I would be required
to certify as a commercial operator. I have checked
carefully with the MCA and my insurance company
to ensure I can seek new friends and share the
running costs without changing the classification
from Private Pleasure Vessel. They have confirmed
I can and that it is a generally accepted practice
when seeking crew.
Crucially,
costs can only be estimated in advance. The actual
costs
and suggested contribution will not be known until
after the event. Contributions can not be taken in
advance or this would constitute a fare. My
boat is purely a private pleasure craft for
use by my family and friends. I'm seeking new friends to
come along, enjoy some time on the water and chip
in with the running costs for the day.

Trips to the Thames and Solent are long journeys for
me. I would need to bring the boat down for few days
to
make
it
worth while transporting - perhaps a long weekend over
a bank holiday. |
Safety
is paramount and SKIPPER’S DECISIONS ARE
FINAL. For safety, I shall take any action I
consider fit
for the well being of the vessel and crew. (This
doesn't include important decisions like deciding
when to break open the picnic and which pubs
to stop at).
WEATHER
will be constantly reviewed, particularly for coastal
cruises, and the trip may be postponed or cancelled
as appropriate.

| What
not to bring please... |
   I'm
sure you will appreciate this is for safety and comfort |
THIS
IS A NON-COMMERICAL, NOT FOR PROFIT, PRIVATE
BOAT ON A COST SHARE BASIS WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
